Reflection Meeting in Amsterdam

The Drama, Diversity and Development project (DDD) is delighted to announce that it successfully completed its reflection meeting, which took place from the 13th of December until the 15th of December, in Amsterdam.  During the reflection meeting, DDD’s team, donors, and grantees gathered to reflect on the project, highlight the achievements accomplished by DDD, exchange knowledge and expertise, and discuss the situation of cultural operators in the Southern Mediterranean region and possible ways forward.

The Drama, Diversity and Development project is a capacity building program working to support the efforts of the Southern Mediterranean countries’ in building deep-rooted democracy.  It also aims to contribute to building sustainable economic, social and human development, through regional co-operation in the fields of media and culture. As the DDD project aspires to challenge discrimination, promote diversity and raise awareness about the issues minority groups face in their respective countries, selected grantees of civil society organizations and street theater companies have employed street theater as a measure to present the situation of local minorities and encourage debate on discriminatory notions of society at all levels.

The projects selected under DDD’s Street Theater Grants are funded by the European Union under their MedCulture program along with the Prince Claus Fund For Culture and Development, and implemented by MRG, the Civic Forum Institute, and the  Andalus Institute for Tolerance and Anti-Violence Studies.
